Things to do in Chicago with Kids

Being a family vacation destination, there are various things that kids can do in Chicago. Plan your vacation such that you incorporate many things that they can do if you want a happy holiday here! Anyway, you won’t have to think much on what to do for them because the city is replete with fun stuff for kids.

One of the most interesting places for the children is certainly the Chicago Children’s Museum. This place is full of things that would pique the interest of the kids. There’s an Inventing Lab where kids can set free their imagination and really make things. There is a Waterways area where kids can have a simulation of rowing a boat down a river. Most of all, the admissions are free for families on Thursday evenings between 5 pm and 8 pm.

If you want to arouse your children’s interest in American history, one of the best places to take them is the Children’s Museum of Immigration. There are some stories from American history here which are displayed in an interactive format. Admissions are free here on the second Tuesdays of all months. There is also a free admission to the Swedish American Museum bundled in the price of the ticket.

Children are usually dumbstruck when they see through the observatory located in the John Hancock Building (on the 94th floor). The observatory provides a mesmerizing view of most of Illinois and also some neighboring states such as Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin. You could also take the kids for a Skytour from the Hancock Observatory.

For a great day with the kids, you could take them to the Millennium Park. There are several things for kids to do here and in fact, people of all ages find the Millennium Park quite fascinating. Even the local Chicago denizens spend their holidays here and have a great time. These are just a couple of tips of things to do in Chicago.
