A while back, we caught up with Rick Bayless to chat about the upcoming Chicago Gourmet festival (September 24–26). Stylish Lakeview BYO Ukai serves up funky specialty maki, classic cooked fare and some contemporary twists on dishes like caprese salad and crab Rangoon, all served in an industrial-meets-Asian setting with plush banquettes, box lanterns and a sushi bar backed by a glowing red lattice; P.S. it gets its name from the Japanese practice of using cormorant birds for fishing.
